Pretty exciting start to the year, got a couple possible submitted mixtapes and great tracks keep getting released. Getting back into things, a quick search got me onto these three tracks. First is the A-Trak remix of Robyn Indestructible from her most recent album Body Talk. Both the remix and the original are pure gold. The thing I actually love the most in the remix, among many other things, is after the intro once the beats start coming in, that transition sound which you hear more of during the electro solo at 2:20 which isn’t actually from the original I don’t think. Damn, call me weird, but I could listen to that all day. Make sure you check out the original by Robyn in this racy video. From the same circle, the Duck Sauce remix of Chromeo Hot Mess featuring La Roux from their most recent album Business Casual. Armand Van Helden and A-Trak are a great match, loving this remix. And lastly, drums drums drums Clockwork remix of Dem Slackers Swagger. Now that’s raw.

Let’s make this a short one. Earlier this year, his label Record Makers released a remix album of Sébastien Tellier‘s Sexuality not surprisingly titled Sexuality Remix. Since the original album came out in 2008, there have been some pretty amazing remixes of his tracks. The album was produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo! I posted the Moulinex remix in late 2008 but had no idea a remix album was in the works or would be anyways.
Awesome video of the Boys Noize remix of the Boys Noize remix of L’Amour Et La Violence, okay not the content wasn’t so awesome but the video itself and goes really well with the song *psst* more than the video for the original, *shhh*. I included the original just so you can see what Boys Noize did to the track. Also, Kilometer remixed by A-Trak. I can’t decide which remix I love more, let me know which one you like better!

Alright, so throughout the year of 2009, I missed some vital tracks. And I’ll admit that some of these tracks, I actually fully listened to and completely brushed off. Not to mention that I failed to submit to The Hype Machine 2009 Zeitgeist, although that was optionally because I could’ve never compiled a proper Top 10 list for albums anyways. Do you know how hard it was last year for me to put one together? So these are three big tracks I missed. I actually heard this track at a club after New Years, and it was so familiar but I could place it. It’s cause I never posted it! The A-Trak remix of Yeah Yeah Yeahs Heads Will Roll. The track has some amazing parts in it, but there were some parts which were slightly repetitive which I can see why it might’ve been a tiny bit off-putting the first time around. But I can’t figure out, with an intro like that how I could’ve not posted it. Secondly, the Hey Champ remix of the Priors. Posted a couple Hey Champ remixes this year, always great stuff coming from them. Lastly, the Diplo remix of Feist‘s I Feel It All which I think I missed altogether. Don’t even really recognize it, in my defense it was released in late 2008, so it passed through two of my lists.

Priors – What You Need (Hey Champ Remix)
Feist – I Feel It All (Diplo Remix)
Does Tuesday really equal Bluesday? Well if it does for you then you need to read the email I got yesterday *all wit/suggestions/comments are credited to Cory Bergen*: “So… Today is Tuesday and Tuesday has no raison d’etre. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, Wikipedia it, because it is Tuesday and you feel like ass, so you might as well learn something. To keep your Tuesday from sucking any further, I offer you art from Baron Von Luxxury via the Burning Hotels titled “Stuck In The Middle (Baron Von Luxxury Controls Everything)”.
…and he was right! My sucky Tuesday was better. Now, to make your WEDNESDAY better I recommend listening to this track because it really is that good.
Next up is the track we’ve been waiting for a couple of weeks to come out…It’s A-Trak’s remix of “Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Heads Will Roll.” I’ve already gotten really sick of this one, but A-Trak did a great job bringin it back to life. It is most definitely the best remix of the song and a fail safe way to rock a set. To finish off I would like to deviate from Electronic music completely and show you a dope Hip-Hop joint called “(We Are) Champions” by Hey Champ and The Cool Kids….if you heard The Cool Kids’ first album, you’ll know it’s proper hip hop and we all know how good “Cold Dust Girl” by Hey Champ was…so let’s all revel in this diversity and show the world that in music we CAN coexist 😀
