Not my first inbox update, but I’ll start numbering them. Starting off with the Death to the Throne remix of Lykke Li Paris Blue. I was going to congratulate D2TT for being on top of things with Lykke Li releasing her new album Wounded Rhymes next week and all, but this track isn’t even from that album. More indie than ever, a b-side track from her single Get Some. While we’re on the subject, you can get a stream of her whole album on Hype Machine. Second is the Flosstradamus remix of Punches. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything from either artist, good times. I actually like the fact that it sounds slightly off, just slightly. And lastly, the Keljet remix of Laidback Luke featuring Jonathan Mendelsohn.

Three great tracks for you guys today, been listening to these all week. First is from the one and only Fred Falke, his remix of the Whitest Boy Alive Golden Cage which when I was listening to it strangely but at the same time not really reminded me of Saturday Night Fever. When I ended up Youtubing the famous dance scene from it I remembered how bad that movie actually was simply because it had absolutely no cultural relevance to me whatsoever when I watched it in my teens like what, 20 years after it was actually produced. I don’t blame the movie for that. Point of that rant? Sounded like disco, and I liked it. Second is the remix by Robotaki of Shinichi Osawa. Robotaki from Montreal, Canada, definitely interested in your remixes now. And lastly, good old Death to the Throne and his remix of Metric Twilight Galaxy. Totally could’ve been a track on its own, but worked great with the song.

So this will be the first real post since moving hosts. I’ve smoothed over most little problems that came from switching hosts, only problem now is the RSS feed. I’ve tried it on a couple different computers and I’m pretty sure it redirects proper to Feedburner. If you haven’t already, make sure you switch your RSS feed reader url to this new RSS link. Unfortunately our subscriber count on FB dropped significantly, I hope that resolves itself. And apologies, I haven’t been able to check my email (or receive for that matter) since the host change, that also has been resolved now. You’ll notice the old feed link will still work, kind of, but it’s a temporary redirect so update your links.
Starting off with another The White Panda mash-up of the Russ Chimes remix of The Vanish Hold On with Will.I.Am I Got It From my Momma. I just can’t stop listening to mash-ups by TWP, they’re great. But I’ll try to slow down with the mash-up posting after this, way too many being made these days. Second track is the Death to the Throne remix of Santigold L.E.S. Artistes which I actually enjoyed the intro. It doesn’t really start right away, I like that commentary on that overplayed BEP track. The track doesn’t really get into things until 1m40s though, so wait a bit. And lastly, also with a slow intro, the Plus Move remix of Passion Pit Little Secrets featuring Future Kiddd. The intro threw me off because it’s like the last track, is also 1m40s. What a coincidence eh? It’s got that whole retro groove sound going for it though, a sound I don’t get enough of these days and I want more!

Here on a beautiful Sunday, posting a great remix producer Death to the Throne. I posted his first original release earlier this year. I noticed these on Hype Machine and looked around the blog, somehow I missed both these remixes! They’re from 2009, but they’re amazing! I couldn’t believe the remix of The xx‘s Shelter, best one I’ve heard so far. I also included the remix of Daft Punk Technologic.
The xx – Shelter (Death To The Throne Remix)
Daft Punk – Technologic (Death to the Throne Remix)
Also, I happened upon an email from Ha! Yes. He’s got a bunch of mash-ups on his Myspace, you should definitely check it out. I included one of his mash-ups between The Twelves’ remix of the Black Kids I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You and Jay-Z Encore.

Been away from the blog a bit, but I’m happily back. I’m glad to see that my co-writers have filled my spot well while I’ve been gone. I don’t think I’ve mentioned it beforehand, please welcome our newest writer Dexter! Totally four weeks late on that. And excuse my impulse post yesterday, genuinely excited that it was actually a Daft Punk track, but to my disappointment yet sweet surprise, it wasn’t. Although the track was decent.
So I’ve had these tracks sitting on my desktop on my break and they’ve been bothering me every time I’ve landed myself on the desktop to post them. Here they are! First is the Van She Tech from Michael Di Francesco, the guitar/synth player of the group, of Dragonette‘s Pick Up The Phone. I couldn’t help myself because I love Dragonette, completely a guilty pleasure I’ve publicly disclosed. It also makes me go back to the Van She remixes which I haven’t heard any new ones in a while. Stretched out intro, but I’m completely into the main beat that comes in around a minute fourteen. Haven’t heard many awesome retro 80’s beats in a while, this is as close as it gets. Trust Van She to do the deed. In the same vein, Buffetlibre‘s remix of The Antlers. Really cheery sounding remix, lyrics are still kind of sad. And lastly, an original from Death to the Throne. I didn’t ignore your email my friend! It just took a long time for me to get to posting it… first thing that came to mind when I listened to this track was ‘bedazzled’ or ‘bejeweled’.
