Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

Well, if I’ve never mentioned before; I’m doing my Masters in Science and I’m getting close to completing it aka shit’s hitting the fan. I just finished my big presentation, so all is calm for now until I have to start writing my thesis. Before any of that, holidays come first and the blog just got pushed back to near the top. Listening to music again, I actually haven’t really listened to much other than the big albums that came out recently for the last month. First time listening to Hype Machine in a while and hearing some great tracks, first on the list is the Adventure Club remix of Metric’s Collect Call which strangely reminds me of Ellie Goulding‘s Starry Eyed. The originals are vaguely similar, but the remix makes it a lot closer for me. Strangely enough, the Adventure Club remix is dubstep, but I don’t hate it. Very strange. Posting the Russ Chimes remix of Ellie Goulding with this. Next track is the Ipaneema mash-up Rock your Weapon at the Cinema which has the Madeon remix of Deadmau5‘s Raise Your Weapon, the Skrillex remix of Benny Benassi‘s Cinema, and a little shout out to MJ Rock With You at the beginning. I was going to post the Madeon remix as well because it’s such a great remix but I already posted it a while back. Lastly, the Royskopp remix of Kings of Leon The Immortals, intro threw me off a bit but what a great track.

Metric – Collect Call (Adventure Club Remix)

Ellie Goulding – Starry Eyed (Russ Chimes Remix)

Madeon x Benny Benassi x Skrillex x Michael Jackson – Rock your Weapon at the Cinema (Ipaneema mash-up)

Kings of Leon – The Immortals (Royksopp Remix)

Chocolate Chip Muffins and More!!

I’m eating a chocolate chip muffin, my creativity of post titles have kind of gone bust two years ago. Starting off with another Christian Strobe remix, this time of Arcade Fire No Cars Go! Great remix of a great song, it adds a nice spin to the original! And that’s coming from someone who didn’t even like Neon Bible. Second is the HLM remix of Ellie Goulding Lights. I really can’t get enough of Ellie Goulding. And lastly, the Justin Faust remix of Fabian. Enjoy!

Arcade Fire – No Cars Go (Christian Strobe Remix)

Ellie Goulding – Lights (HLM Remix)

Fabian – Last Flight (Justin Faust Remix)

No no, not the Katy Perry song. I had the privilege of hearing that song like 10 times on my drive back into Toronto last night. Really excited for this first track, the Monsieur Adi remix of Ellie Goulding. I’m still waiting for that second album from Ellie Goulding, the first album Lights was killer. I love the sound of this remix though, really makes my week. Second is the Aeroplane remix of George Michael Faith. Wait, remix of George Michael? Why hasn’t this been done more often? And lastly, the Blue Satellite remix of Retro/Grade Mindfighter. More traditional, maybe music is turning out better than the economy is!

Ellie Goulding – Guns And Horses (Monsieur Adi Remix)

George Michael – Faith (Aeroplane Remix)

RetroGrade – Mindfighter (Blue Satellite Remix)

Starting off with another track suggested to me, The Subs The Face of the Planet. They’re a Belgian techno-trance-esque group who make some pretty awesome music. I absolutely love how this song starts off, I actually love it because of how off it is. It evens out though. Second is the Van She Tech remix of Dan The Automator Rapper’s Delight. It’s 2 years old, I think the track is from early 2009, but Van She remixes are timeless. And I can’t miss out on the Alan Braxe remix of Ellie Goulding The Writer reposted from Aerial Noise. Can’t get enough of those two. Also been listening to the new Radiohead album, I will have to report back on it once I’ve listened to it a couple hundred times! Have a good Friday!!

The Subs – The Face Of The Planet

Dan The Automator – Rapper’s Delight (Van She Tech Remix)

Ellie Goulding – The Writer (Alan Braxe Remix)

Electros Back, Wait it left?

Oi! Changed a couple things starting with this post. No more Mediafire (or 3rd party links) for one thing, the files will now be hosted off of here although that doesn’t guarantee how long they’ll be up for. I need to figure out how long files should remain available for download. The player has also been updated, it’s much more user friendly now and you should like it. I will update some of the older posts as I come along them, but don’t expect the majority of the older posts to be updated. Now to test it out! First track is the Vim Cortez remix of Kavinsky Nightcall, amazing remix is all I really need to say. The intro is epic, it adds a hard edge to the track which I definitely enjoyed. Finally, some house electro, I definitely regretfully strayed away from that whole genre because there was little new content coming from any of the major artists. Haven’t heard from Justice in a while although they do have an album planned for this year, Daft Punk is on their typical sabbatical, I know they’re the tip of the iceberg of house but they definitely led the scene into mainstream. Anyways, next track is the James Rutledge remix of Ellie Goulding Guns and Horses which is from her most recent single and will be in her upcoming album Lights. And lastly, the Copycat mash-up of The Young Punx Burn Burn Burn and Depeche Mode Photographic. Totally digging the sound from this track.

Kavinsky – Nightcall (Vim Cortez Remix)

Ellie Goulding – Guns And Horses (James Rutledge Remix)
