So I’ve been deciding for a while, should I revamp Sundtrak? I’ve had the same theme up for at least three years. The theme is still made to fit screens that go with 800×600 resolution or less. The audio player is still using flash, everything is moving away from that. I can’t even play any of the music on this blog on my phone! My blogroll hasn’t been updated in at least a year, half of those blogs are probably gone by now. Just to let you know, I’ve noticed. The player won’t get updated any time soon though, that’d be a big job. Three great tracks that have been circulating around blogs. The Theatre of Delays remix of No Ceremony Feelsolow, absolutely great electro feel to this track. Second track is the Cyril Hahn remix of Solange Losing You which kind of surprised me. It started off slow, but I’m digging the whole 90’s new wave synthpop feel to the track. Ending off with the Little Daylight remix of Passion Pit‘s Constant.

I was out with some new workmates the other day and Hype Machine actually came up in a conversation not initiated by me. It actually kind of threw me back because I always thought Hype Machine never really got the acclaim it deserved. Unfortunately seconds after this realization, they said how much they loved dubstep and how half of everything posted on Hype Machine is dubstep now. I almost fell onto the floor. It’s only half true! Now the reason I took a hiatus from blogging is because I stopped listening to music altogether. It will be baby steps coming back, but let’s get back to the basics. I’m really excited because I am hearing some more electro around, especially what I loved labeling as retro electro. I’m even hearing it on the radio and in retail stores, although it’s all stuff people posted 3 years ago. We’re getting somewhere!! For those of you who stayed even though I haven’t posted in a while, thank you. Let’s start off with the first track, a track that when I heard it I though was extremely familiar, the Boys Noize remix of Shiny Toy Guns Le Disko. I think the track predates my blog, I must’ve posted it already right? Totally missed it, well here you go. The Theatre of Delays remix of The XX‘s Angels kind of blew me away. Funny way to describe the track because it’s a pretty slack, but I love it for some reason. And lastly, speaking of getting back to basics, the Calvin Harris remix of Florence and the Machine. Bravo, totally reminds me of his older stuff which I couldn’t get enough of. Well done on another great remix.

Well, here’s some stuff from some albums this year, before the year ends! From the new M83 album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. I’ve been meaning to post up a review on it which will soon happen, so I’ll save that for posting the original. Anyways, starting off with the Christian Strobe remix of Midnight City, the track I really can’t get enough of from their new album. This remix is the only one that I liked out of the bunch I hated, loving the original track made me much more subjective on the remixes. Second track is the Tensnake remix of Friendly Fires Hurting which is from their new album Pala. I haven’t listened to yet, but if it’s anything like their first one then I’ll be happy. Something to check out for sure. And lastly, the Theatre of Delays remix of The Rapture In The Grace of Your Love from their newest album In the Grace of Your Love. Haha, yeah. I actually really like this remix, it’s not fast or electro but it’s great on its own. Anyways, expect some sort of post or review of all three of these albums. I’ll add it to my calendar.
